Job summary

Power Cross Ministry in Statesville and Salisbury, North Carolina is seeking passionate, faith-driven individuals to serve as part-time Youth Basketball and Wrestling Coaches. You will mentor boys ages 7–14, lead age-appropriate practices, and help athletes grow in discipline, teamwork, and character through athletics and faith.

Ideal candidates bring a personal commitment to Christian faith, experience in basketball or wrestling, and a desire to mentor young men.

Qualifications

A personal commitment to Christian faith and values.
Experience playing or coaching basketball or wrestling.
A genuine passion for mentoring and developing young men.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Reliability, accountability, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
A commitment to teaching life lessons that extend beyond athletics.
Previous coaching experience is preferred, but candidates with strong athletic backgrounds and a passion for youth mentorship are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Coach and mentor young men ages 7–14 in basketball or wrestling.
Lead organized, age-appropriate practices emphasizing fundamentals, skill development, and athletic growth.
Develop athletes' confidence, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Build meaningful relationships with participants, families, and fellow coaches.
Reinforce Power Cross core values and participate in faith-based mentorship and discipleship.
Maintain a safe, encouraging, structured, and positive environment.
Collaborate with athletic leadership to support player development and program goals.
Serve as a positive role model through personal character, consistency, and leadership.
