Job summary

The Town of Carrboro, NC is seeking qualified individuals to officiate youth basketball games. Training is provided in October, November and December and games are played Fridays and Saturdays from December through early March across local middle schools.

Candidates with playing or coaching experience are desirable, while prior officiating is preferred but not required. Officiating is paid per game, with flexibility in scheduling and duties at various local sites.

Qualifications

• Experience officiating basketball is preferred but not required.
• Basketball playing or coaching experience desirable.
• Knowledge of local league rules and NFHS rules.
• Training provided in October, November and December.

Responsibilities

• Officiate youth basketball games following local/NFHS rules.
• Ensure fair play and safety during games.
• Communicate calls clearly to players, coaches and scoretable.
