Job summary

The Salvation Army in Harrisburg seeks a Facilitator (FT & PT) for Youth and Family Education. This role leads arts and other enrichment activities for K–5 participants, develops age-appropriate lessons and ensures a safe, engaging environment for learning and fun.

Applicants should have at least 90 college credits and 2–3 years of youth-teaching experience, plus valid clearances and a driver's license. The position is seasonal with both part-time and full-time options.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of 90 credits of higher education plus 2-3 years previous experience in teaching youth.
• Self-motivated; strong initiative and time management skills; good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work independently.
• Knowledge of cultural flexibility and working with multi-cultural participants.
• Experience with inner-city and un-churched youth preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate a specific art genre (Art, Music, Coding, Career Exploration, Bridging the Gap, Character Education, Bible).
• Review and implement curriculum and lesson plans; Art and Music require fully created lesson plans.
• Provide participants with a safe, enjoyable learning environment for arts and fun.
• Model honest, positive behaviors and practices; collect data on program impact.
• Instruct youth of grades K-5 and plan age-appropriate lessons for each age group.
• This position is a part-time employment.
