Job summary

The Town of Silverthorne is seeking a certified Yoga Instructor to lead classes at the Recreation Center in a fun, engaging way. Instructors ensure safety in the fitness area and monitor participants’ fitness levels, with a minimum of one class per week and schedules including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Required credentials include a nationally recognized yoga certification and CPR/AED; strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized yoga certification or equivalent training.
• CPR/AED certification within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Instruct scheduled yoga classes for the public in a fun and engaging manner.
• Maintain safety in the fitness area and monitor participants' fitness level during classes.
• Teach a minimum of one class per week, with morning, evening and weekend sessions.
• Communicate effectively with participants and staff to ensure a positive experience.

Description

The Town of Silverthorne is seeking Certified Yoga Instructors for classes at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Yoga Instructors are responsible for instructing scheduled yoga classes to the public in a fun and engaging manner. Yoga Instructors also maintain safety in the fitness area and monitor participants for appropriate fitness level during classes. Yoga classes are mainly scheduled in the morning, in the evening and on Saturdays, and a Yoga Instructor would be expected to teach a minimum of one class per week.

Hiring Range: 26.63 to 30.18 per hour Full Pay Range: 26.63 to 35.50 per hour

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Nationally recognized Yoga certification or equivelent training
• CPR/AED certification upon 6 months of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• 2-3 years of work experience in the area of yoga instructor
• Degree as it relates to health/fitness/nutrition

Position Requirements

• Yoga training or certifications, if applicable
• minimum of one year of yoga class teaching experience
• CPR / First Aid training, or the ability to obtain this within 3 months
• the ability to communicate effectively verbally in English in both individual and group settings
• the ability to effectively demonstrate yoga asanas (postures) to others
