Job summary

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) seeks a Yield Engineer for its Sugar Land, TX site to drive yield improvement across wafer fabrication and device-test processes. You will analyze data to identify trends, plan DOE experiments, and implement corrective actions with Fab, R&D, and Quality teams.

The role emphasizes statistical data analysis, process capability, and problem-solving to enhance process stability and product reliability. On-site collaboration with multiple groups is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field relevant to semiconductor manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, yield engineering, or reliability engineering.
• Strong knowledge of statistical data analysis and DOE.
• Experience with JMP or similar statistical-analysis software.
• Ability to translate statistical results into practical process actions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze fab process, equipment, metrology, device-test, yield, and reliability data to identify trends and sources of variation.
• Monitor yield by product, process step, tool, recipe, lot, wafer, and time period.
• Develop and maintain SPC charts for critical parameters and characteristics.
• Plan and analyze designed experiments to improve yield, stability, and reliability.
• Prepare yield reports, trend charts, wafer maps, and DOE summaries for engineering and management.
