Job summary

YETI in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Senior Industrial Designer to lead the full spectrum of hardgoods design, from concept through manufacturing, translating consumer insights into market-ready gear.

You will champion YETI’s design language, collaborate with global partners, and mentor peers while driving innovation and ergonomic excellence across products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design
• At least 4 years’ experience in industrial design and development of commercialized consumer products
• Ability to travel worldwide ~1x per year
• Strong experience with human factors and ergonomics is a plus
• Proficiency in 2D sketching and 3D physical and digital modeling
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling; advanced surfacing and assembly a plus
• Rendering and animation skills; KeyShot desired
• Advanced Adobe CS competencies
• Rapid prototyping experience
• Robust communication, storytelling, collaboration skills
• Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Deep knowledge of the product development process
• Experience with global manufacturing partners

• Develop aggressive product critiques and benchmarking
• Maintain and broaden brand identity thru the established YETI visual design language
• Guide design rationale from initial idea thru manufacturing
• Contribute to building the design system by introducing global design and outdoor industry reviews inspired by immersive experiences and/or independent studies
• Influence studio design outcomes by mentoring junior staff and cross-functional teammates

Duties:
