Job summary

City of Fishers, DPW Streets, is seeking a part-time Laborer to assist with maintaining city streets, parks, and facilities. The position averages 29 hours per week and pays $17 per hour.

The role involves outdoor work in all weather, occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call snowplow duties. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive a city vehicle.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Evening, weekend and holiday hours may be required.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Ability to interact with a variety of people and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in curb and street repairs, asphalt and concrete work.
• Trim trees and bushes along city roadways.
• Pick up debris along right-of-ways.
• Maintain park grounds and facilities; manage athletic fields and irrigation systems.
• Set up tables, chairs and equipment for events.
• Assist with snowplow/weather event duties.
