City of Indianapolis is seeking a pool lifeguard to perform routine daily aquatic operations under supervision. The role emphasizes safety, rapid decision-making, and excellent customer service at an assigned park location.

Responsibilities include supervising swim activities, enforcing rules, performing rescues and first aid, and supporting lessons and programs while adhering to established policies and safety protocols.

Qualificações

• Lifeguard License required or ability to obtain.
• Water Safety Instructor desired.
• Able to work in a diverse organization and uphold equity and inclusion.

Responsabilidades

• Lifeguards and scans assigned zone of protection
• Enforces rules and performs proper rotation
• Provides safety assistance, rescues, emergency actions and first aid when necessary
• Monitors participants and users of the facility with the highest priority on safety and exemplary customer service
• Provides the highest attention to safety for participants, self, and fellow employees
• Follows all established protocol for biohazard materials
• Follows all aquatic facility rules and protects self from sun exposure
• Reports hazardous conditions to supervisor promptly
• Maintains in-service hours and adheres to performance audits
• Keeps facility, grounds, pool deck and bath house clean
• Assists with accident reports, chemical testing and water testing
• Teaches, coaches, and assists with lessons, swim teams, events
• Supervises and guarantees safe operation of all aquatic programs
• Adheres to City of Indianapolis policies and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality at all times
