Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Yardspotter in Nicholasville, KY. You will move trailers, spot and prep them for shipping, and monitor loading status at the distribution center.

Responsibilities include driving yard tractors, inspecting equipment, and ensuring product security for transport. The role requires reading instructions, basic math, and adherence to safety standards. Excellent benefits begin after 60 days, with full-time schedule and evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No Class A CDL required.
• Accident-free driving record for past three years desired.
• Able to read and comprehend extensive written instructions.
• Understand equipment ID numbering system.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to perform tasks.
• Comply with safety rules and company policies.
• Maintain punctual attendance and reliability.
• Able to lift, carry, push, pull dividers and bulkheads inside trailers.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor or yard truck and attach trailer, secure lines.
• Back trailers into doors and spot for loading/unloading.
• Fuel and clean equipment as needed.
• Inspect trailers for defects and ensure refrigeration units function.
• Move trailers within the yard and access doors.
• Read labels and bill of lading; perform quantity calculations.
