Description

• Remove all fluids, lubricants and components (e.g., converters) as required in a safe and efficient manner to prep vehicles for setting in the yard.
• Work primarily outdoors removing vehicle parts from salvage cars, including quarter panels, doors, lids, hoods, axles, and suspension pieces.
• Set vehicles in the yard as assigned and record information accurately and timely.
• Operate a forklift or loader to assist in moving vehicles from process to the yard.
• Clean out debris from vehicles before they go into the processing area.
• Pull out batteries to be tested for resale and bring charged batteries to the retail area.
• Work with Loader Operator to stage vehicles or pull vehicles in the yard properly.
• Walk the yard and place debris in the cars being removed from the yard.
• Dismantle tires.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensure all EPA and OSHA regulations are met.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Comply with established company policies and procedures.
• Initiate and support the continual improvement of the company's quality improvement system.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be constantly on feet except when operating machinery.
• No lifting restrictions and no fear of heights.
• Able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
• Able to climb ladders, stairs and tolerate heights of more than 15 feet.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts while performing duties.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions with no coverage.
• Tolerate high and low temperature levels.
• Noise level is moderately loud.
