Job summary

Brunswick Corporation, including Freedom Boat Club, is hiring for a full-time yard/boat-handling role. You will work outdoors at the dealership/storage yard, assisting with moving boats and preparing boats for seasons, while supporting technicians and the team.

The position emphasizes safety, physical tasks, and teamwork, with pay ranging from $18 to $22 per hour and a range of medical, dental, vision, vacation, and 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe movement of boats at yard/dealership.
• Perform boat prep including wrapping, cleaning, detailing, bottom painting.
• Fall boat prep: wrap, bottom scraping, bottom painting, power washing.
• Maintain clean and organized vessels and yard.
• Support technicians and team members with various tasks.
• Operate yard equipment safely.

Position Overview

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team, you will be working with our large variety fleet of boats! This position is full-time with a large amount of time spent outdoors. At Brunswick & Freedom Boat Club, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.

Essential Functions

• Assist with the safe and efficient moving of boats at the dealership/storage yard
• Spring boat prep: Unwrapping shrink wrap, cleaning, waxing, detailing, bottom painting
• Fall boat prep: Shrink wrapping, bottom scraping, bottom painting & power washing
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of vessels and the boat yard
• Support technicians and other team members with various tasks
• Operate yard equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to regularly complete the physical demands of the role including bending, kneeling, balancing and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds
• Ability to adhere to all safety policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a marine or similar environment is a plus, but not required
• Team player with good communication skills

Working Conditions

Work outdoors and in various weather conditions for an extended period of time

Work in a service center setting around machinery

Pay and Benefits

The anticipated pay for this position is $18 - $22 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
