Job summary

Parker's Building Supply, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, in Mount Airy, NC, seeks a Yard/Warehouse Rep I. This entry level role handles receiving, stocking, shipping and counting inventory, and operates a forklift safely.

You will maintain organized bays, assist inventory control, and provide excellent customer service while following safety procedures and company policies; high school diploma or GED required. No prior forklift experience is required, and on‑the‑job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.
• Ability to learn to read a tape measure.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Inventory Control Systems, and other business apps).

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely.
• Participate in a positive work environment.
• Assist warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment.
• May include emptying trash receptacles and keeping bays clean and organized.
• Receive incoming products and materials.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Count and record receipt of materials.
• Stock materials in appropriate locations.
• Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.
• Operate forklift with foot and hand controls.
• Build outgoing orders or load orders onto delivery equipment as needed.
• Operate facility equipment (e.g. bander, power tools).
• Monitor inventory as required by location management.
