Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC in South Windsor, CT is seeking CDL Class A Yard Truck Drivers for full-time roles. You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks and support yard operations, moving trailers, coupling/uncoupling, and ensuring safe loading/unloading.

You’ll have the opportunity for a four-day work week and home daily, with a comprehensive benefits package. This role requires a valid Class A CDL, DOT medical card, and 1–2 years of tractor-trailer experience; English proficiency and

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the past 5 years.
• English language proficiency is required to comply with federal law.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management.
• Couple and uncouple trailers.
• Chock trailers during loading/unloading and pull from doors.
• May run additional routes on scheduled days off to earn extra income.

You will drive:

• Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks
• Best-in-class specs designed for comfort
• Equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras helping to ensure safety for all

What you will do:

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
• Couple and uncouple trailers
• Chocking trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors
• Drivers may have the option to run additional routes on scheduled days off to earn extra income, based on business needs and route availability.

Schedule:

• Sunday through Wednesday
• Sunday through Tuesday, 10:00 PM to 10:00 AM
• Wednesday, 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the past 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
