Job summary

Valid8 Financial, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Yard Technician to support day-to-day yard maintenance, organization, and container operations. You will assist with basic repairs, load/unload using a forklift after training, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

This role reports to the Yard Technician or a designated manager. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliability, with training provided to operate equipment and follow company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in general labor, maintenance, warehouse, yard work preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift after completing required training and authorization.
• Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of general yard and maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic repairs and general maintenance of containers and offices to keep units clean, functional, and ready for use or rental.
• Assist Yard Technician with routine maintenance and repair projects.
• Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, painting, and replacing simple fixtures or hardware.
• Operate a gas-powered forklift to load, unload, move, and organize containers after training.
• Help with loading and unloading materials, supplies, containers, and equipment.
• Maintain an organized yard and keep work areas free of debris and hazards.
• Support yard operations by maintaining tools, materials, and supplies.
• Follow supervisor instructions and report any repair, maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns.
• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to company safety requirements and PPE usage.
• Participate in safety meetings and training as required.
• Contribute to core values of the company and assist with other yard tasks as assigned.

Job description

The Part-Time Yard Technician provides hands-on support with the day-to-day maintenance, organization, and operation of the yard. This position assists with basic repairs and maintenance of storage containers and related equipment, loading and unloading containers using a forklift, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and supporting the Yard Technician with general yard activities.

This position is intended as a support-level role and works under the direction of the Yard Technician and/or designated manager.

Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:

• Assist with basic repairs and general maintenance of storage containers and offices to help ensure units are clean, functional, and ready for use or rental.
• Assist the Yard Technician with routine maintenance and repair projects.
• Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, painting, replacing simple fixtures or hardware, and other general maintenance activities as assigned.
• Operate a gas-powered forklift to load, unload, move, and organize containers, once properly trained and authorized by the Company.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials, supplies, containers, and equipment.
• Maintain an organized yard and keep work areas free of debris and potential hazards.
• Help maintain tools, materials, and supplies used for yard operations.
• Follow instructions and communicate any identified repair, maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a safe work environment and perform assigned duties in accordance with Company safety requirements.
• Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing assigned work.
• Properly dispose of waste and materials in accordance with Company procedures.
• Participate in required safety meetings and training.
• Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the Company’s Core Values.
• Assist with other basic yard, maintenance, and operational tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous general labor, maintenance, warehouse, yard, or similar experience preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn basic container repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift after completing required Company training and authorization.
• Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with general yard and maintenance work.
