Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Yard Technician to keep our facilities clean and organized while supporting drivers and customers with equipment needs. You will learn about the equipment rental industry and have opportunities for career growth, including pathways to Driver, Mechanic, ProSales Associate, and Sales/Operations roles.

The role emphasizes safe operation, routine equipment checks, and maintaining an orderly yard, with emphasis on customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid driverfers license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required by the job.
• Able to communicate with customers and use basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers.
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment and machinery.
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure safety and good working order.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard and work area.
• Answer and resolve customer questions; provide expert advice on equipment selection and operation.
