Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc. in Cameron, LA is seeking a motivated Yard Technician to keep our yard clean, organized, and ready for load/unload operations. You will assist drivers, verify tickets, and provide product knowledge while supporting the team and safety standards.

Ideal candidates are energetic, customer-focused, and eager to learn, with a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This role offers growth opportunities into driver, mechanic, or sales tracks.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to load/unload for drivers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Help to load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment and various pieces of machinery
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order
• Maintain and clean and organized yard and work area
• Answer and resolve customer questions
• Provide customers with expert advice on the selection, operation and maintenance of all the various types of equipment
• Support all team members

Job Purpose

Yard Technicians at Herc Rentals are responsible for keeping our facilities looking clean and professional by maintaining the cleanliness of our equipment and keeping everything organized and easily accessible. The ideal person for this role is energetic, eager to help, and hungry to learn and grow their career. What you will do...

• Help to load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers

Requirements

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Skills

• Ability to safely drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including stretching, turning, twisting, and reaching overhead

• Ability to bend, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for extended periods

Pay Range: $19 - $22 per hour
