Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc. is seeking a Yard Technician in Las Vegas to help load and unload equipment, verify tickets, and keep the yard organized and safe. You will assist drivers, perform safety checks, and ensure equipment is accessible and properly staged for delivery.

You will learn the equipment rental business, advance through internal opportunities, and work with a supportive team. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and hands-on maintenance in a fast-paced yard environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of equipment handling and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate basic computer systems for ticketing and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload from internal/external drivers and customers.
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment and machinery.
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
• Perform routine safety checks on rental equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard and work area.
• Answer and resolve customer questions and provide equipment guidance.
• Support team members as needed.

Yard Technicians at Herc Rentals are responsible for keeping our facilities looking clean and professional by maintaining the cleanliness of our equipment and keeping everything organized and easily accessible. What you will do...

• Help to load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers


• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy


• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment and various pieces of machinery.


• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers


• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order


• Maintain and clean and organized yard and work area


• Answer and resolve customer questions


• Provide customers with expert advice on the selection, operation and maintenance of all the various types of equipment


• Support all team members

Requirements

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers


• Ability to input information into computer systems


• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English


• Ability to safely drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds frequently


• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required


• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods


• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including stretching, turning, twisting, and reaching overhead


• Ability to bend, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for extended periods

Pay Range:$20.00-$22.00 per hour
