Job summary

Carter Lumber Company in Charleston, SC, seeks dedicated individuals to assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selecting and loading their orders. You will help maintain the Yard's inventory and organization while working outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• A friendly personality is essential for teamwork.
• Familiarity with building materials is an asset.
• Must be able to work outdoors regardless of weather.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation and gain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with their orders and selections.
• Stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness in the Yard.
• Conduct inventory cycle counts and ensure stock is accurate.

Description:

You will assist contractors and do‑it‑yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if you haven’t operated one previously, we will train you and help you attain forklift certification.
