Job summary

ADF International in Great Falls, Montana is seeking a Night Shift Yard Operator to move materials using forklifts, telehandlers, and overhead cranes. The role requires reliability on the night shift (4:30 pm–3:00 am), valid license, and prior heavy equipment experience.

You will perform material handling, equipment inspections, and safety checks, while maintaining productivity and compliance with OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or better.
• Valid drivers license.
• Heavy equipment training may be preferred.
• Truck driving experience is preferred.
• 2+ years of heavy equipment operation or related experience.
• Detail-oriented.
• Able to work under strict deadlines and adapt to new/changing processes.
• High level of self-motivation.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must work the night shift (4:30 pm to 3:00 am).

Responsibilities

• Relocate materials using a forklift as instructed.
• Load and unload supplies to the required area and/or load goods onto/off a truck.
• Move material/supplies to a designated storage area or stockroom.
• Perform routine equipment and rigging inspections before use.
• Follow OSHA forklift safety checklist to ensure brakes, lights, steering, horn, and other parts work properly.
• Operate overhead traveling cranes/hoists as needed.
• Maintain situational awareness and prioritize safety.
• Operate various heavy equipment efficiently as needed.
• Understand load tolerances and equipment limits.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Overview: ADF International , a North American leader in the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of complex steel structures and modular construction, is seeking a night shift Yard Operator for our steel fabrication plant in Great Falls, Montana. The Yard Operator will operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, and overhead cranes to move materials. Truck driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Relocate materials using a forklift as instructed.
• Load and unload supplies to the required area, and/or load goods onto and off a truck.
• Move material/supplies to a designated storage area or the stockroom.
• Perform routine inspections on all equipment and rigging before use to verify its condition.
• Follow the OSHA safety checklist to make sure brakes, lights, steering, the horn, and other parts of the forklift are working properly.
• Perform tasks using the overhead traveling cranes and/or hoisting gears as needed.
• Maintain situational awareness and always pay close attention to safety.
• Excellent ability to efficiently operate various pieces of heavy equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of equipment load tolerances, specific requirements, and limits.
• Proficient mathematic and mechanical knowledge.
• Any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
• Valid driver’s license
• Completion of heavy equipment training preferred
• Truck driving experience is preferred
• 2 or more years of heavy equipment operation or related experienceDetail-oriented.

• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, snow, rain, sun, etc.)
• Must be willing and able to work the night shift (4:30 pm to 3:00 am)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hours at a time.
• Ability to bend, squat, and kneel for varying lengths of time.
• Ability to fully articulate the shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist.
• Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift, or carry up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in various conditions (loud, hot, dusty, cold, etc.).
• Must be able to grasp and safely operate hand and power tools.
• Able to ascend/descend ladders as needed.
