Job summary

TAL Building Centers is seeking a Yard Materials Associate to assist customers with yard materials, load and unload stock, and keep the lumber yard and warehouse organized and safe at our onsite store location.

You will greet customers, coordinate with sales and yard teams, verify invoices, and help prepare loads for delivery. This role requires physical effort and strong safety awareness; forklift operation may be required after training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1–3 months experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required and MVR checks.
• Ability to perform physical duties including lifting.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and evaluate level of assistance required.
• Direct customers to materials and assist loading.
• Coordinate with sales and yard team for prompt service.
• Assist loading/unloading and check materials against invoices.
• Pull loads for delivery and bundle safely for transport.
• Learn material locations and their proper use.
• Operate forklifts and light trucks after training.
• Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
