Yard Maintenance – Amarillo, TX

Friona Industries LP invites applications for the Yard Maintenance position in Amarillo, TX. The yard maintenance team is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the overall functionality of the feedyard, working closely with the Yard Maintenance Manager to develop maintenance schedules and preventive practices.

Roles and Tasks

• Responsible for feedyard layout and construction of yard improvements.
• Perform repair and maintenance of watering systems, fences, equipment, yard signage, and vehicle maintenance.
• Continuously observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote, support, and participate in company policies, procedures, and programs.
• Execute additional duties and job assignments necessary for feedyard effectiveness.
• Maintain and repair road surfaces, bunk pads, pens, and alleys by filling holes and removing waste and debris.
• Ensure equipment operation by recording and completing servicing requirements, including fueling, checking fluid levels, filters, greasing, and cleaning.
• Identify, communicate and coordinate with the Yard Maintenance Manager on maintenance and cleanliness needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Moving machinery, industrial equipment, vehicular, and livestock traffic.
• Physical tasks: standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, shoveling, operating equipment and heavy machinery.
• Exposure to weather conditions: rain, sleet, snow, hail, heat, cold, wind, and dust.
• Daily close proximity to livestock.
• Occasional physical exertion during administration of medical attention.
