Job summary

Buchheit Family of Companies is seeking a Load Builder to compile loads of lumber and other construction materials for customer orders in our store yard. You may operate a forklift or industrial truck to move and load items, assist with deliveries, and ensure accurate loading and placement.

The role requires reading work orders, following instructions, maintaining yard appearance, performing daily forklift inspections, and adhering to safety and loss-prevention procedures in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend work orders and instructions.
• Ability to communicate with customers, management, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service
• Read work order, invoice, or follow instructions to determine materials needing moved, gathered, and loaded
• Operate forklift or industrial truck to load/move merchandise and materials
• Load merchandise onto store delivery trucks for delivery or transfer
• Assist with unloading deliveries as necessary
• Confirm quality and quantity, and put away resellable products from jobsite returns
• Track lumber and cut/mod as needed
• Place boards in rack according to grade and length
• Assist customers with loading purchased merchandise
• Maintain yard and racks in an orderly, clean manner
• Complete daily forklift inspections
• Adhere to loss prevention, inventory control, and safety procedures
• Communicate customer issues to internal staff
• Additional duties as assigned

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time/Full-Time

Position Summary

The Load Builder is responsible for compiling loads of lumber and other construction materials for customer orders. They often operate a forklift or industrial truck to assist in moving and loading materials and products.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service


• Reads work order, invoice, or follows oral instructions to determine materials or containers needing moved, gathered, and/or loaded


• Operate forklift or industrial truck to assist in loading or moving merchandise and materials


• Load merchandise on to store delivery trucks for delivery or transfer


• Assist with unloading deliveries, as necessary


• Confirm quality, confirm quantity, and put away resell-able products from jobsite returns


• Track and cull / cut & mod lumber as needed


• Remove lumber from units and place boards in rack, according to grade and length


• Assist customers with loading purchased merchandise


• Maintain the appearance of the yard and racks in an orderly and clean manner


• Complete daily forklift inspections


• Adhere to Loss Prevention, inventory control, and compliance procedures


• Safety awareness of anything in store that may be hazard to employees or customers


• Effectively communicates customer issues and concerns to all applicable internal staff members


• Additional duties, as assigned
