Job summary

Five Below seeks a Yard Jockey / High Reach Forklift Operator to manage trailer movements and warehouse tasks in a fast-paced distribution setting. You will safely operate yard trucks and a Crown stand-up high reach forklift while maintaining inventory accuracy and coordinating with Transportation and Warehouse teams.

Ideal candidates have Crown forklift experience, RF scanner familiarity, and a safety-minded approach. CDL-A is preferred; ability to pass background and drug screens is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Crown stand-up high reach forklift.
• Yard jockey / trailer spotting or yard management preferred.
• CDL-A certification preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain company certification.
• RF scanner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient trailer movement to support transportation and warehouse operations.
• Safely operate yard trucks and perform daily equipment inspections.
• Conduct yard checks and maintain accurate trailer inventory.
• Position, secure, seal, and stage trailers as directed.
• Maintain yard organization and communicate trailer status, damages, or operational concerns.
• Support inbound and outbound dock operations as needed.
• Safely operate Crown stand-up high reach forklift and other authorized equipment.
• Perform receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and unloading activities.
• Use RF scanners to complete inventory and warehouse transactions.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper product location standards.
• Inspect equipment daily and maintain clean, organized work areas.

The Yard Jockey / High Reach Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently performing both yard and warehouse operations through the operation of a yard truck and a Crown stand-up high reach forklift. This role manages trailer movement within the yard, maintains trailer inventory, supports inbound and outbound freight flow, and promotes safe and efficient warehouse operations. The successful candidate must be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with Transportation and various Warehouse departments.

Yard Operations

• Maintain efficient trailer movement to support transportation and warehouse operations.
• Safely operate yard trucks and perform daily equipment inspections.
• Conduct yard checks and maintain accurate trailer inventory.
• Position, secure, seal, and stage trailers as directed.
• Maintain yard organization and communicate trailer status, damages, or operational concerns.
• Support inbound and outbound dock operations as needed.

High Reach Forklift / Warehouse Operations

• Safely operate a Crown stand-up high reach forklift and other authorized equipment.
• Perform receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, staging, loading, and unloading activities.
• Use RF scanners to complete inventory and warehouse transactions.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper product location standards.
• Report product damage, inventory discrepancies, and quality concerns.
• Inspect equipment daily and maintain clean, organized work areas.

Safety and Work Environment

• Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
• Remain alert to pedestrians, trailers, equipment, and workplace hazards.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or damages.
• Maintain a safe, professional, and productive work environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely enter and exit equipment, trailers, and elevated work platforms.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience operating a Crown stand-up high reach forklift is required.
• Yard jockey, trailer spotting, or yard management experience preferred.
• CDL-A certification preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain company certification.
• RF scanner experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and safety mindset.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Satisfactory driving record and ability to pass required background and drug screening.

Schedule and Additional Requirements

• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
• May provide support to Transportation, Warehouse, Dock Operations, and other departments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
