Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Florida is hiring a Material Handler/Yard Jockey in Opa Locka, FL. The role focuses on safely moving yard tractors, operating forklifts and supporting warehouse operations.

Pay is $22.00 per hour with overtime at $33.00 per hour and an extra $1.00 for second/third shift. Schedule is Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm. We offer weekly pay, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months past 3 years or 2 years past 5 years or 5 years past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads.
• This role requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, ongoing training and customer service.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Maintain accurate move and yard inventory records; other tasks as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules; detect and mitigate safety hazards.
