Job summary

OnTrac is hiring a Warehouse Hostler / Yard Driver in Commerce, CA. This role safely positions and maneuvers trailers to and from the dock and collaborates with the yard team and Operations Management.

Work hours are Tue-Sat 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, with pay at $27 per hour. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), at least 1 year of driving experience with trailers, a clean driving record, successful pre-employment screenings, TSA screening, and (if requested) a 5‑ to 10‑year

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both
• Minimum 1-year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old, possess a clean driving record, valid identification and pass TSA screening
• Must provide a 5-year to 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Basic English language proficiency (spoken and written) required for safety and operations

Responsibilities

• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment as outlined in the Company Safety Program
• Pre-trip and inspect each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards
• Position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor
• Switch trailers as needed during the daily sort; hook up trailers for line hauls leaving the facility
• Communicate trailer moves and numbers clearly with operations management
