Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is hiring for a First Shift Weekend Yard Driver (NON-DOT). The role runs Saturday to Monday, 6:00am–6:00pm, with overtime as needed.

Compensation is $21.35 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential, with a focus on safe yard operations and trailer switching. Responsibilities include transporting trailers, refueling, and maintaining yard equipment, while following company policies and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor.

Position: First (1st) Shift Weekend Yard Driver (NON-DOT)
Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Overtime required based on business needs.
Pay: $21.35 per hour p;us $2.00 shift differential

In addition to the general job description below, the ideal candidate will also possess the following skills and/or experience:

-CDL License is NOT required but proven experience safely operating yard switching equipment and/or operating commercial transport vehicles is required.

-Job duties include transporting and switching trailers to and from assigned areas, re-fueling and maintaining yard switch equipment to ensure proper working order.

Role Purpose

Drives switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations. Makes decisions in sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations. Loads and unloads trailers and verifies product count. Maintains a clean and safe docking area and reports any maintenance or safety issues to supervision. Refuels vehicles on site and documents locations and condition of equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
• Maintains equipment fuel levels and refuels equipment during appropriate times.
• Loads and unloads trucks, verifying the count and condition of product. Reports overages, shortages, and damages.
• Performs daily yard checks.
• Properly secures loads, ensuring loads are within local, state and federal guidelines.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and/or logs as required policies and procedures.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Notifies supervision of current or anticipated repair needs.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor
