Job summary

IntelliSource is seeking a dependable Yard Driver to support trailer movement and yard operations at a fast-paced distribution facility in Fort Worth, TX. You will safely operate tractor-trailers, coordinate with dock and transportation teams, and ensure accurate trailer positioning and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a CDL, at least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience, and a strong commitment to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

ABOUT THE ROLE

IntelliSource is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Driver to support trailer movement and yard operations at a fast-paced distribution facility. This position is responsible for safely moving, positioning, and staging tractor-trailers throughout the property while coordinating closely with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams.

The ideal candidate has experience operating tractor-trailer equipment, demonstrates strong attention to safety and accuracy, and can adapt to changing operational priorities. This position may also assist with additional facility-related responsibilities as assigned.

Contract Duration: Immediate start through an estimated date on or around December 31, 2026 with final dates based on business demands.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely operate tractor-trailer and yard equipment in accordance with company, customer, local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Coordinate with dock coordinators, warehouse leaders, and transportation personnel to move trailers to designated dock doors, staging areas, and parking locations.
  • Transport and position trailers accurately and within required operational timelines.
  • Inspect trucks, tractors, and trailers to confirm mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Perform pre-shift, post-shift, and routine equipment inspections.
  • Maintain appropriate fuel levels and report equipment maintenance or repair needs.
  • Complete trailer inventory checks and verify trailer numbers, locations, and load status.
  • Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, logs, and forms, including documentation required by the Department of Transportation.
  • Couple and uncouple tractor-trailer equipment safely and correctly.
  • Verify that trailers are properly secured before and after movement.
  • Immediately report unsafe working conditions, damaged equipment, damaged products, accidents, or improper procedures to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with associates, supervisors, customers, suppliers, and other operational partners.
  • Follow established procedures while using sound judgment to resolve routine operational issues.
  • Prioritize trailer movements based on dock schedules, shipping deadlines, and operational needs.
  • Adapt to changing work demands, assignments, and facility priorities.
  • Complete additional job-related duties throughout the facility as assigned.

  • Adjusts effectively to changing trailer priorities, schedules, weather conditions, and work demands.
  • Maintains focus during high-volume periods and unexpected operational changes.
  • Responds positively to coaching, feedback, and new assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License, with Class A CDL preferred or required based on site operations.
  • At least 12 months of experience operating a tractor-trailer unit.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to meet company, customer, insurance, and regulatory driving requirements.
  • Ability to safely maneuver and back tractor-trailers in confined or high-traffic areas.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal safety instructions.
  • Ability to complete required records, logs, inspections, and DOT documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain dependable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous yard-driver, hostler, spotter, or trailer-movement experience.
  • Experience working in a distribution center, fulfillment center, transportation terminal, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with trailer-inventory systems, yard-management systems, or electronic tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of DOT safety and equipment-inspection requirements.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Operate a motor vehicle, tractor-trailer, or other large powered equipment.
  • Enter and exit tractor and trailer equipment repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Walk throughout the work area for extended periods.
  • Move up and down ladders and stairs.
  • Bend, twist, pull, reach overhead, stoop, and reach below the knees.
  • Visually inspect tractors, trailers, equipment, documentation, and surrounding yard conditions.
  • Read printed and electronic information, including information displayed in small print.
  • Enter, locate, and update information using a computer or mobile device.
  • Write and complete documents, reports, logs, and inspection forms.
  • Hear and differentiate equipment sounds, safety alarms, and potential hazards.
  • Observe the movement and behavior of associates, suppliers, drivers, and other individuals within the work area.
  • Work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and damp conditions.
  • Work around moving tractors, trailers, vehicles, dock equipment, and powered industrial equipment.
  • Travel across sloped, uneven, wet, icy, or slippery surfaces.
  • Work in areas with varying noise levels and changing visibility.
  • Shift could be days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime based on operational needs.

Because this is a safety-sensitive position, job offers extended to candidates will be contingent on your ability to successfully clear post-offer criminal background screening and drug testing. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Competitive hourly salary rate commensurate with market benchmarks
  • Hourly rate of $29 - $33/hr (based on experience and geographic area) + overtime potential
