Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Yard Operations Coordinator to manage trailer movements, schedule shunt activities, and coordinate with security on safety policies. The role requires attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and timely reporting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, experience with dolly crank and bolt cutters, and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Some travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience using a dolly crank and bolt cutters.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office; basic Outlook and Intranet use.
• Able to work with minimal supervision; strong time management and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work the required schedule at the specific location.

• Creates yard layout and trailer movement schedule (shunt schedule).
• Interfaces with Security regarding safety, accidents and customer policy.
• Conducts yard audits and ensures accuracy of information in internal and/or external electronic systems through data entry and audits.
• Performs necessary reporting functions.
• Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Meets deadlines for reports and activities.
• Adherence to company guidelines and expectations.
• Other projects as assigned by the Supervisor.

Position Summary:

In this role you will be the primary contact for all yard activity relating to the movement of trucks, trailers, freight, and traffic for drivers including trailer location / rotation.

Major Responsibilities:

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
