Mid-City Lumber Company in Linn Creek, MO is seeking a Delivery Truck Driver/Yard to accurately pull orders, load trucks top-to-bottom, and deliver to customer sites while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires a valid class E license, ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, physical stamina, map reading, and a commitment to safe driving, with full-time hours Monday–Friday and benefits after probation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum class E license for light trucks and material handling equipment.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders correctly and load trucks for customer sites in the specified order.
• Ensure loads are balanced, strapped, and delivered to the correct job site.
• Identify products by code and complete all paperwork and scanning for orders.
• Scan in and out for each load; follow safety and traffic regulations; wear seat belts.
• Perform daily pre-trip truck inspections and keep trucks clean and fueled.
• Report any equipment or vehicle damage immediately with appropriate paperwork.
• Assist with pulling/loading; ensure loads match tickets and are stacked properly.
• Verify return locations and forward necessary documentation to the responsible party.

We offer a casual work environment with a family atmosphere. We are currently looking for someone to join our team in the following position at our Linn Creek location:

Delivery Truck Driver/Yard

Job Duties:

• Pull orders correctly, in a timely manner. Must know how to sequentially load trucks for unloading at the customer site and in the order that the customer will use the material. Ensures that loads are carefully balanced and strapped on the delivery trucks.
• Know the product codes and the product to accurately pull orders without errors. Must complete all paperwork and scanning activities to account for all product pulled and loaded for customer orders.
• Know the product and ensure that each item and the correct quantity is delivered as shown on the ticket to the correct customer job site. Know where you are going. Know the subdivisions and locations of the jobs. Know how to use digital navigation, and to read a map.
• Scan in and Scan Out for each load. Deliver loads in a timely manner, taking the most direct route, all while OBSERVING ALL SAFETY AND TRAFFIC REGULATIONS. WEAR SEAT BELTS.
• Perform pre-trip inspection daily on trucks which includes fluid levels, tire pressure, top off fuel nightly. Park trucks, pull keys, put away radios each night. Keep truck clean.
• Reports any damage to equipment or vehicles immediately to the supervisor and fills out the required paperwork to document the incident.
• Assist with pulling and loading operations as time permits. Ensures that the loads are correct per the ticket and are loaded in a top-down manner (material used first in on top of the load). Ensures that the load is secured and will not shift.
• For Returns, verify the location and contact of where the return was picked up. Drop off the return at the proper place in the yard and forward paperwork and necessary information to the responsible party.

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• A minimum class E license required for all light trucks and material handling equipment.
• Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, conveyors, etc.
• The physical requirements for this job include walking and standing on concrete floors and unpaved yard and jobsite areas. Sitting in the cab of a delivery truck for much of the work shift. Stair and ladder climbing are required. Working outside and in unheated storage areas is required. This job is subject to the temperature, and humidity, and precipitation extremes of the local climate. All motor skills normally used in grasping, lifting, bending, turning, and carrying (minimum of 80 lbs.) are necessary. Correctable vision and hearing are needed.
• Must be able to understand written and oral instructions. Must be able to follow multi-step instructions.
• Flexibility in required in working with fellow co-workers and customers.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
