Job summary

RB Global is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team. Yard Attendants work outdoors among vehicles, focusing on safety and efficient operations while learning to use technology and tools in the auction process.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license and are physically able to lift up to 100 lbs. Prior automotive knowledge is a plus; training for forklift and loader operation is provided to support daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
• Physically demanding role; safety and positive interactions are essential.
• Experience with cars or mechanical knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle check-in by recording and filing information.
• Detail vehicles to improve appearance and value at auction; training provided.
• Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving vehicles around the facility.
• Recover keys, license plates and other information from vehicles; store properly.
• Assist visitors by providing guidance to the appropriate person.
• Train and develop on the job in forklift and loader operation.

About The Team

The Yard Operations team conducts hundreds of live auctions each year around the world. The team includes equipment inspectors, yard managers, operators, administrative staff and customer service representatives, all working together to conduct successful multi‑million dollar auctions.

Yard Attendants work in the elements, are detail‑oriented and quick on their feet. They focus on safety, ensure quick and smooth operations and enjoy learning new ways to use technology and tools in the auction industry.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle check‑in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility
• Detail (thoroughly clean) vehicles to improve their appearance and enhance their value at auction; training provided
• Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving vehicles around the facility and/or participating in drive‑through auctions
• Recover keys, license plates and other information or objects from vehicles at the facility and store them in the appropriate locations at the branch
• Assist visitors by providing guidance and advising them to the appropriate person for additional assistance
• Train and develop on the job in forklift and loader operation

Qualifications

All candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent). This is a physically demanding role, not a desk job. An upbeat demeanor to ensure every customer interaction is positive is a must. Knowledge of cars or general mechanical knowledge is a plus. Teamwork is crucial to our success. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle as required for job duties.

While it is not required, it would be great if you have basic automotive repair skills or experience in the rental or construction area. Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related fields is preferred.
