Job summary

QXO in Saint Cloud, MN is seeking a dedicated Yard Associate to deliver friendly service to customers, help locate products in the yard or warehouse, and assist with loading and unloading materials. You will pull and stage orders, organize inventory, and support deliveries while maintaining safety and efficiency.

You will also operate forklifts (training provided), inspect equipment, and collaborate with yard staff, drivers, and sales teams to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills with a positive, dependable, and safety-focused attitude.
• Previous experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, building materials, construction, or similar environment preferred.
• Experience pulling orders, loading materials, and handling inventory; basic math and measurement skills required.
• Forklift or material-handling equipment experience preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain required certification.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment and safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift and work in varying weather conditions; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.

• Verify quantities and product accuracy before loading or shipment
• Support inventory organization and material flow throughout the facility
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training and certification provided where applicable)
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow all equipment operating procedures and company guidelines
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional yard, warehouse, and storage areas
• Monitor racks, storage locations, and work areas to ensure materials are safely stored
• Identify and report hazards, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Promote a safety-first culture and support overall operational excellence
• Work closely with yard personnel, warehouse staff, drivers, sales teams, and management
• Support daily operational goals and customer service objectives
• Assist with additional yard, warehouse, and operational duties as assigned

What You’ll Do
