Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter/Yard Worker to station and retrieve equipment, maintain a maintenance schedule, and ensure equipment meets specifications. The role involves inspecting gear before and after rental and working in a safety-focused team environment.

Starting pay ranges from $17.75 to $23.72 per hour with benefits and opportunities for advancement into mechanic, driver, or customer service roles at multiple locations across the US.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred.
Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

The Yard Associate is responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on the location's property.
Maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure equipment meets all set specifications.
Inspects equipment prior to and after rental to document any lost and/or damaged equipment.

Position Overview

The Yard Associate is responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on the location's property. The role maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure equipment meets all set specifications. The Yard Associate also inspects equipment prior to and after rental to document any lost and/or damaged equipment.

Education or Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
General mechanical aptitude
Safety‑focus
Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. Compensation

Base Pay Range: $17.75 - 23.72. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
