Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Porter / Yard Worker in Columbus, OH. You will station and retrieve equipment on the location’s property, maintain a written maintenance schedule, and inspect equipment before and after rental to document any loss or damage.

The role offers growth into mechanic, driver or customer service positions within a safety‑focused team. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and experience with construction tools or equipment repair is helpful.

Job Description Summary

The Yard Associate is responsible for stationing and retrieving equipment on the location’s property. The role maintains a written maintenance schedule, may service equipment as necessary to ensure all specifications are met, and inspects equipment prior to and after rental to document any loss or damage.

Education or Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred
• Some experience and/or training in repair of mechanical equipment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers (written and oral)
• Ability to perform basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• General mechanical aptitude
• Safety focus
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Pay Range

Base Pay Range: $17.75 – $23.72 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including position offered, location, education, training, and experience.
