Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator for the 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 pm - 6:30 am) to lead dock activities and ensure safe, efficient trailer movements.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to safety standards across an active yard environment. Experience in warehousing or dock operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Strong communications skills with the ability to engage in daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications.

• Partner daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer-facing teams to prioritize multiple tasks.

As a Yard and Dock Coordinator you will serve as the primary point of contact for all dock-related activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of trailers in and out of the facility. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute daily dock activities while modeling accountability, operational discipline, and customer service excellence.

Whatyou’lldo on a typical day:

Champion operation safety as well as support of hand tools and dock-related equipment, asrequired

Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders,maintaininga strong customer service mindset

Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines, safety standards, and site SWIs, seeing tasks through to completion

Support dock and yard organization in alignment with 7S workplace standards

Conduct regular visual inspections andmaintainhigh observational awareness toidentifyrisks, inefficiencies, or potential delays

Use Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite tools to track activity, communicate updates, and document issues

Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and Lead peers as needed

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum,you'llneed:

Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation-related environment

Demonstrated ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation

Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and across varied terrain

Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols

Strong communicationskills with the ability to engage in daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions

Comfort using Microsoft Office 365 and/or Google Suite applications

It'dbe great if you also have:

Previousexperience in a lead, coordinator, or informal leadership role

Exposure to safety programs, yard management systems (YMS), or WMS environments

Experience supporting or enforcing safe work practices and stop-work authority

Mechanical aptitude or familiarity with basic hand tools and dock equipment

This job requires the ability to:

Work extended time outdoors in varying weather conditions

Stand, walk, and traverse uneven surfaces throughout the shift

Maintain situational awareness in a high-traffic dock and yard environment

Support a flexible schedule as business needs require

Carry objects 3-5 feet weighing up to 50lbs, routinely

Stand for prolonged periods of time >4 hours

Walk continuously more than 10,000 steps (4-5) miles per day

Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull objects of various shapes and sizes in the team lift.

Tolerate hot and cold work environments

Ability to use powered and/or manual lifting equipment toassistwith the team safety moving inventoryin accordance withestablished protocols and safety guidelines
