Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an X-ray Technician for the River Edge location (130 Kinderkamack Rd, Suite 300, River Edge, NJ). The role focuses on producing diagnostic radiographs and supporting sports medicine, trauma, and joint replacement services in the MG Orthopedics North department.

You will operate Carestream XR, utilize Horizon PACS, and maintain patient safety and confidentiality while delivering high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of radiology experience preferred.
• ARRT license and NJ state license required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• CPR certification (AHA preferred).
• EPIC knowledge is a plus.
• Carestream XR and PACS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with non-weightbearing patients is a plus.
• Knowledge of leg length series is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform 40 x-rays per day with multiple views.
• Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of patient.
• Assist physician with special procedures.
• Coordinate reading of x-ray films with physician.

Practice location: 130 Kinderkamack Rd, Suite 300, River Edge, NJ

A typical day for an X-Ray Technician may include:

• 40 x-rays per day
• Multiple views for Sports Medicine, Trauma and Joint Replacement, Upper Ext, Lower Ext, and Spine
• Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient
• Assists physician with special procedures
• Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician
• Initiating and maintaining correspondence with patients and insurance companies
• Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films to include appropriate log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and accurate filing of films
• Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing
• Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
• Prepares patients for physician evaluation
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat and clean
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence
• Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times
• Takes patients' medical history, information pertaining to the patients' visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis

To be considered for this X-Ray Technician opportunity, you must:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office
• 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
• Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required
• CPR Certification approved by AHA Preferred:
• EPIC knowledge is a plus
• Working with Carestream XR machine and Horizon Health Care PACS is a plus
• Experience with non-weightbearing patients/stretcher patients is a plus
• Knowledge of leg length series is a plus
