The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) reports directly to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, the Department of Defense (DOD), the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM).

Responsibilities

• Assist the FSO with the overall Xilinx Classified security program.
• Process new employee security clearances.
• Track security clearance investigations and perform administrative support functions, including NISS and DISS administration.
• Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel.
• Process outgoing visit requests and certifications.
• Review required forms, processes, and screen security forms.
• Ensure document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies, Xilinx management, and the FSO.
• Assist in preparation for facility reviews and inspections.
• Develop, implement, and oversee the federal security clearance program.
• Provide training for classified/secure project personnel.
• Oversee company’s personnel security clearance records.
• Oversee and assist FSO’s with security process reviews to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate closeout for classified projects.
• Oversee Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) processes and compliance.
• Support other security disciplines as needed for classified/secure projects.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in security programs in related industry fields.
• Preferred TS level clearance (or ability to obtain).
• In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements, with strong computer, access control, and IDS skills.
• Completed or willing to complete required security training.
• Ability to interpret and implement security policies and provide guidance.
• Proven ability to manage and oversee security compliance programs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
