Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to deliver exceptional patient care while producing high-quality diagnostic images. You will operate X-ray equipment, perform imaging procedures, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate results.

The role requires completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and BLS/ARRT/LsRTBE certifications. You will work in a patient-centered environment with safety and compliance at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Prior healthcare experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
• Active ARRT and state licensing where required.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care

• Verify patient identity and correct exam requirements before every procedure.
• Obtain and document relevant clinical history to support accurate exam performance and interpretation.
• Clearly explain procedures to patients and families, helping ease concerns and encourage cooperation.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to clinical or emergent situations that may impact patient care.
• Follow up on critical test findings and ensure timely communication as needed.
• Review applicable laboratory values, including BUN, creatinine, pregnancy status, and glucose levels, when required.

Perform High-Quality Imaging Procedures

• Demonstrate expertise in operating all assigned radiographic equipment and performing imaging protocols.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images within established time standards.
• Utilize PACS and related imaging systems effectively.
• Collaborate with radiologists when additional image review or anatomical clarification is necessary.

Maintain a Safe and Efficient Environment

• Inspect imaging equipment and examination rooms daily to ensure safe operation.
• Troubleshoot equipment concerns and promptly report hazards or malfunctions.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and workspaces.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure necessary supplies are readily available.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and maintain adequate linen and supply stock.

Support Quality and Compliance Initiatives

• Participate in department quality control and performance improvement activities.
• Follow established sterile and aseptic techniques during all applicable procedures.
• Adhere to infection prevention and body substance isolation policies.
• Wear required radiation monitoring badges and comply with radiation safety standards.

Contribute to Department Operations

• Accurately complete required documentation and imaging records.
• Enter and verify patient and exam information in PACS and RADIANT systems.
• Assist with routine clerical and operational duties to support efficient departmental workflow.

Education & Experience

Preferred:

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Previous healthcare experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Licenses & Certifications

Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE)
