St. Luke's University Health Network invites a Radiologic Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team on-site. You will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with emphasis on patient safety and image quality, while ensuring accurate patient identification and exam data.

The role requires ARRT eligibility or certification, ongoing education, and rotation through all radiology areas. BLS certification must be current within three months of hire, with a commitment to quality and patient

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT-recognized education program or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Must pass ARRT registry within 1 year of hire.
  • Current BLS certification within three months of hire.
  • Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
  • Rotates through all diagnostic radiology areas; proficient with RIS/HIS.

Responsibilities

  • Identify patient and exam; perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with care.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies; adhere to downtime procedures for continuity of care.
  • Contribute to Radiology QA/PI data collection and reporting.
  • Educate patients about procedures and what to expect.
  • Support education of radiology staff; document activities and results.

Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.Schedule: Tue/Wed/Thurs 8 AM-8 PM.The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures adhering to the principle of radiation protection, according to local, state and federal standards.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Properly identifies patient and exam and performs diagnostic radiographic services on patients with the maximum amount of care, while evaluating the technical qualityResponsible for successful technical continuity of care and education of radiological procedures to patientsDemonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilitiesAssists in gathering and recording data for Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programAssumes responsibility for assigned area, making sure all equipment and supplies necessary for that area are readily available for useAccurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patientsMaintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs and maintaining personal education binderProvides educational information to the patient regarding their examinationAnnual peer review of films meets department standards. Knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history and appropriate background and information pertinent to proposed examinationKnowledgeable regarding patient condition, history and appropriate background and information pertinent to proposed examinationPHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:Frequent use of fingers and hands to operate equipment, pull x-ray folders and chart information. Walking or standing for up to 8 hours per shift in 30-minute increments. Pulling, pushing and lifting patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Lifting and moving objects of up to 50 pounds. Frequent stooping, crouching and bending. Frequently lifting arms above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.EDUCATION:Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible. Must pass registry within 1 year of hire date. NJ staff must have current New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (with NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection) and must be registered before date of hire.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, and ongoing training in department procedures. Must rotate through all areas of diagnostic radiology. Current BLS certification required within three months of hire.
