Job summary

SimonMed is seeking a Radiologic Technologist in Leesburg, FL to perform diagnostic X-ray exams per physician orders, maintain patient safety, and ensure high-quality imaging in a busy outpatient setting. You will assist with IV contrast administration and venipuncture, support CT/MRI imaging workflows (ROCC), and mentor students while collaborating with radiologists and staff.

The role requires ARRT Radiography, an associate degree, state licensure, BLS, and strong communication for patient

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• ARRT certification in Radiography is required.
• State radiologic technologist license (as applicable).
• BLS certification is required.
• 1–2 years experience in radiography (outpatient, clinical, or hospital) preferred.
• Experience with venipuncture and IV contrast administration is required.
• Exposure to CT or MRI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality X-ray examinations based on physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Assist in positioning patients for MRI and/or CT exams following training and protocol.
• Start IVs and administer contrast material as required for imaging procedures.
• Screen patients for contraindications to imaging procedures and document findings.
• Support remote technologists through ROCC by assisting with onsite tasks and patient coordination.
• Maintain accurate patient records and enter clinical notes into RIS/EMR.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control procedures.
• Monitor and maintain radiographic equipment functionality.
• Collaborate with technologists, radiologists, and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide compassionate, efficient, and professional patient care.
• Assist with workflow and operational support in the imaging center.
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations.

Job Duties:

• Assist with workflow and operational support in the imaging center as needed.
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations, ensuring competency in imaging procedures, safety protocols, and patient care standards while fostering professionalism, confidence, and skill development.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• ARRT certification in Radiography – Required
• State radiologic technologist license (as applicable) – Required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – Required
• 1–2 years of experience in radiography in an outpatient, clinical, or hospital setting – Preferred
• Documented experience in venipuncture and IV contrast administration – Required
• Exposure to or training in CT or MRI is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong working knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, positioning, and safety practices.
• Proficiency in starting IVs and handling contrast media according to protocol.
• Familiarity with imaging software systems such as PACS, RIS, and EMR platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy outpatient environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Adaptable and able to support remote and hybrid imaging operations (e.g., ROCC).
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
