Job summary

SimonMed in Prescott, AZ is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray exams, position patients, and operate radiologic equipment.

You will document imaging details in EHR, follow ALARA principles, and collaborate with physicians to ensure patient safety and accurate records. Requires ARRT and an associate degree; BLS preferred; state license; 1–2 years’ experience; outpatient setting a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
• ARRT certification in Radiography required.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Active state license as required by law.
• 1–2 years of X-ray technologist experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient/ambulatory care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams using proper techniques and positioning.
• Prepare, position, and assist patients during imaging procedures to ensure comfort and safety.
• Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and calibration.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and follow department protocols for image storage and documentation.
• Document patient information and imaging details in EHR.
• Apply radiation protection techniques in accordance with standards and company policy.
• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures at all times.
• Communicate with physicians, radiologists, patients, and team members.
• Maintain compliance with continuing education and licensing requirements.
• Assist with scheduling, clerical tasks, and workflow coordination as needed.
• Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations, fostering professionalism and skill development.

Job Duties:

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (Required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Preferred)
• Valid state license as required by applicable law or regulatory agency
• 1–2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist (preferred)
• Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient knowledge of radiologic imaging procedures, anatomy, and patient positioning techniques
• Skilled in operating radiographic equipment and imaging software (e.g., PACS, RIS, EMR systems)
• Understanding of radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail, accuracy in image capturing, and adherence to documentation protocols
• Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to patient confidentiality
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under minimal supervision
