Job summary

NOMS Healthcare in Ohio seeks a float X-ray technician to support radiology operations across Concord, Ohio. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, teamwork, and adherence to HIPAA/OSHA policies while performing imaging and related duties.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT certification, CPR, and have at least two years of radiology experience, with familiarity in PACS systems and image distribution.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required for radiography practice.
  • Current CPR certification and ongoing CE requirements.
  • Graduate of an accredited X-ray program with_normative credentials.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the radiology field.
  • Working knowledge of PACS and image transfer workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules.
  • Prepares patients for radiographic procedures and acquires images.
  • Injects contrast when needed for diagnostic imaging.
  • Ensures equipment is functional; reports malfunctions.
  • Logs procedures and handles related paperwork.
  • Develops images for film/CD release and communicates with Radiologist.
  • Maintains exam rooms and stocks radiologic supplies.
  • Performs QA on equipment to meet accreditation standards.
  • Coordinates patient information and related records.
  • Extends patient/media records as required.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

The Challenge (Job Summary)

As an x-ray technician, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource for our patients and team members, and having an impact in the community through our engagement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for performing radiology exams specific to respective area of X-ray duties. Work is performed in accordance with NOMS policies and procedures/applicable federal and state laws. Effective performance requires independent action under general supervision.

Your Day to Day & Essential Functions:

  • Complies with HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Prepares patients for radiographic procedures. Takes images following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Prepares and injects contrast when needed for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Logs procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
  • Develops and processes images to film and CD burner. Proficient in sending studies to Radiologist and archival system.
  • Maintains and cleans exam rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Processes diagnostic imaging procedures and records history forms when necessary.
  • Requests and coordinates all necessary patient information including charting and charge slips.
  • Performs QA procedures on the equipment on a routine schedule to maintain requirements for ODH and ACR accreditation.
  • Responsible for maintaining medical inventory and reporting orders as needed.
  • Copies records when requested with proper authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed (Competencies, Education):

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Required to maintain CE requirements
  • Graduate of accredited X-ray Program.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in respective area required
  • Knowledge of procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of equipment including safety hazards common to equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing exams to CD/film
  • Working knowledge of PACS system and CD burner
  • Knowledge of sending and storing images.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, Physicians, patients, and families.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Combination of office and exam setting. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a radiology department. Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
