Job summary

Vamos Health in Utah is seeking a reliable X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist) to join our healthcare team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on safely performing diagnostic imaging procedures, verifying patient information, and ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program, holds Utah licensure, and ARRT certification, with CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current Utah state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist through DOPL.
• ARRT certification required; must pass ARRT before Utah licensure.
• Endorsement by another state/territory possible.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Previous clinical/outpatient experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while following procedures and radiation safety standards.
• Ability to remain calm and professional with anxious patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures safely and accurately, following provider orders.
• Verify patient identification and ensure imaging orders, exposure settings, and positioning are correct for each study.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain the process to help ease anxiety or discomfort.
• Position patients correctly and use proper shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
• Follow established radiation safety protocols, infection control procedures, and equipment operating guidelines.
• Review images for quality and technical accuracy before submitting to providers; repeat studies as needed following protocol.
• Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
• Accurately document procedures, patient information, and imaging results in the patient record.
• Provide professional and compassionate patient service.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The X-Ray Technician will be responsible for safely and accurately performing diagnostic imaging procedures while providing a professional, compassionate experience for patients. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and prioritizes patient safety, image quality, and confidentiality.

Schedule: Weekdays and Saturday mornings

Key Responsibilities:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required — must have passed the ARRT exam prior to applying for Utah licensure.
• Candidates currently licensed as a radiologic technologist in another state, territory, or district of the U.S. may apply for licensure by endorsement.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and radiation safety standards.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when working with patients who may be nervous or uncomfortable with imaging procedures.
