Job summary

Outpatient Services East (OSE) in Birmingham, AL is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to provide imaging support in the operating suite. Responsibilities include operating C-Arm/portable x-ray, preparing rooms, and maintaining a safe, clean environment during procedures.

Requirements include graduation from an approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration or registry eligibility, and BLS certification. PRN schedule with Monday–Friday availability; weekends not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registered or registry eligible for radiography.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide general care to patients in the facility within the operating room.
• Operate C-Arm and/or portable x-ray equipment.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and physicians during radiologic exams.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces and equipment, including aprons and lead shields.
• Participate in patient callbacks between cases.
• PRN position with Monday–Friday availability; no weekends.

Located in the Professional Office Building #52 on the UAB St. Vincent’s East Campus, the facility now provides 6 operating rooms and 9 procedure rooms and a Cysto room.

SUMMARY

Provides general care to patients in the facility by performing the following duties within the operating room.

• This is a PRN position. Scheduled as needed.
• Work schedule - Need availability to be Monday - Friday for PRN
• Operate C-Arm and/or portable x-ray.
• Maintain safe environment for patient, staff and physicians during radiologic exams.
• Prepares rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains a clean environment by daily cleaning of all work surfaces and equipment.
• Participates in cleaning all aprons and lead shields as needed.
• Participates in patient call backs in between cases.
• Required: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered or registry eligible for the ARRT certification in radiography.

*Specialties include: Orthopedic, ENT, Pain, Weight loss, GYN, Urology and Ophthalmology and GI.

• Must have Xray Degree and License
• BLS required
• Xray experience or Xray background preferred
• Looking for availability for Monday-Friday, no weekends!
• PRN needed to help with heavy case days and to help with vacation day coverage
