Job summary

CARENOW - OAK RUN MSO within HCA Healthcare is seeking an X-ray Tech - Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team in New Braunfels, TX. This role supports patient care with vital signs, imaging, EHR documentation, and clinical duties under supervision.

You will perform imaging, basic lab tasks, injections, and assist with patient check-in/out while maintaining accurate records in the EHR system. A minimum of 1 year in a clinical setting is helpful and state licenses are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, and administer IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services per provider orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs of in-house and external lab work.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

As a X-ray Tech, you will:

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.
• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.
• You may apply splints, dressings and bandages.
• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.
• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

You should have:

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• General Medical Radiolo gy Technician (GMRT), Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT), or Non-Registered Technician (NCT) license is required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
