Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray exams, ensuring proper positioning, safety, and high-quality images in a fast-paced imaging department. You will collaborate with radiologists, verify orders, and document patient history while maintaining infection control and patient comfort.

The role requires an accredited radiology program graduate with Oregon licensure, ARRT registration, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Licensed by Oregon State DEP.
  • Registered by ARRT; BLS certification required.
  • IV certification preferred.
  • Proficient with RIS, PACS and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs X-Ray examinations with proper positioning and protocols to produce optimum diagnostic images.
  • Follows departmental protocol unless directed by Radiologist.
  • Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Manages delivery of care and patient safety.
  • Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders.
  • Obtains and documents patient history and relevant information.
  • Ensures X-Ray room is clean after exams and adheres to infection control standards.
  • Prioritizes and organizes work, adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Prepares patients for procedures and minimizes anxiety.
  • Operates X-Ray and imaging equipment safely; Power injectors experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates radiation safety awareness; prepares contrast materials.

Job Description

This position is eligible for an annual bonus of up to $10,000!!

Essential Job Functions

Performs X-Ray examinations requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning, X-Ray protocols, and equipment so that selection and modification of technical factors may produce optimum results.

Follows appropriate departmental protocol for procedures unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.

Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.

Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.

Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies provider orders.

Obtains and documents, patient history and relevant information.

Ensures X-Ray room’s cleanliness after exam and procedure.

Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.

Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.

Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.

Operates X-Ray and medical imaging equipment properly and safely.

Experience with Power injectors preferred.

Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.

Prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials.

General Job Functions

Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.

The ability to perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.

The ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Attend department meetings.

Other job duties as required.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements

1-3 years' experience required.

Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.

Licensed by Oregon State DEP.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) BLS certification is required.

IV certified preferred.

Maintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systems.

The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.

Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems.
