Job summary

Chicago Magnesium Casting and Midwest Aerospace Casting, LLC. is seeking a detail-oriented X-Ray Department Material Handler/Scriber to collaborate with the supervisor and support production scheduling.

In this role you will manage part flow, organize Kanban cells, ensure precise scribing/serialization per customer specs, maintain film records, and train new staff while upholding strict log accuracy and OSHA-safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with supervisor and operations to produce daily/weekly/monthly x-ray schedule.
  • Organize carts/baskets of parts in staging pen area and to other departments.
  • Handle part flow from staging pen to Kanban cells and x-ray booths per schedule.
  • Understand customer requirements, scrap challenges, rework and returns; relate material handling to quality.
  • Review and inspect all material, ensure correct part identification and routing.
  • Learn and follow CMCC procedures, traveler processes, film storage guidelines, scanning protocols.
  • Learn and execute scribing/serialization per customer requirements and logs using approved techniques.
  • Maintain, sort, and categorize x-ray film; track retention/disposition records.
  • Assist outsource functions and train new employees on scribing, logging, material handling.
  • Wear safety gear and keep work area clean and organized.
