Job summary

Goodyear is seeking an X-Ray/Holographer Analyst to advance tire quality using non-destructive testing methods such as x-ray, holography, and shearography. Based in Akron, OH, the analyst will contribute to product reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 2 years technical degree or 6 years relevant work experience in lieu thereof.
  • 1+ years of experience performing technical work in manufacturing/quality environments.
  • Ability to learn and apply QA standards, processes, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Mechanical aptitude and general computer skills; experience with inspection equipment.
  • Ability to safely handle and move tires in a physically demanding environment.
  • Bachelor's degree and tire specs knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate x-ray and camera equipment to perform tire inspections.
  • Operate shearography equipment to evaluate tire structures and identify defects.
  • Analyze inspection results and clearly communicate findings to Production and Q-Tech teams.
  • Move tires during the shift and position products for inspection.
  • Follow QA standards, safety procedures, and operational guidelines during inspections.
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement through systematic problem-solving.

The X-Ray/Holographer Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring tire quality by conducting advanced non-destructive testing through x-ray, holography, and shearography technologies. This position is responsible for operating specialized inspection equipment, analyzing test results, and communicating findings that support manufacturing quality and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment. This role directly contributes to product reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do
  • Operate x-ray and camera equipment to perform quality inspections on a variety of tire products.
  • Operate shearography equipment to evaluate tire structures and identify potential defects.
  • Analyze inspection and test results, clearly communicating findings to Production and Quality-Technology teams as needed.
  • Handle and move tires throughout the shift, including lifting and positioning products for inspection.
  • Follow quality assurance standards, safety procedures, and operational guidelines while conducting inspections.
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts through systematic problem-solving and technical analysis.
What We're Looking For
  • 2 years technical degree or in lieu of degree 6 years relevant work experience
  • 1 + years of experience performing technical work in a manufacturing, quality, or related environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply quality assurance standards, processes, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Mechanical aptitude, general computer skills, and experience working with x-ray, laser, or similar inspection equipment.
  • Ability to safely handle and move tires in a physically demanding environment.
  • Bachelor's degree and knowledge of tire specifications are a plus.
