Job summary

Fountain Hills Medical Center is seeking a CT-X-Ray Technician to perform radiographic and related imaging procedures. You will prepare and position patients, adjust equipment, and ensure high-quality images for radiologist review.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or 1–2 years related experience), and certifications including AART, BLS, and CT. You will work under radiation safety practices and collaborate with nursing staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have AART, BLS, and CT Certification.
  • Strong ability to explain procedures and gain patient cooperation.

Job Title:

CT- X-Ray Technician

Summary:

Performs radiographic, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
  • Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including nuclear medicine and sonography.
  • Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Measures and mixes barium and contrast media.
  • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
  • Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside.
  • Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Assist Nursing staff in rooming pts, registration, lab draws, EKG and splinting experience preferred but will train.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical regulations, reports, journals and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the community.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Basic Computer knowledge, EMR, PACs

Certificates and Licenses:

AART, BLS, CT Certification
