Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute - Clearwater is seeking an X-Ray Technician assistant to support Radiologic Technologists in daily duties. You will help obtain orders, escort patients, and maintain EMR entries as part of a fast-paced imaging team.

As a full-time position, you will contribute to patient flow, room readiness, and cross-coverage at front desk while ensuring safety and compliance with FOI policies. Prior medical experience preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 2 years’ experience in a medical environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains x-ray orders from the Radiology Front Desk.
• Distributes orders among x-ray rooms ensuring optimal flow of patients.
• Escorts patients to Radiology.
• Reviews x-ray orders with patient, verifying body part and laterality.
• Enters x-ray referral orders into the EMR.
• Records exam and Tech information in daily log.
• Escorts patients requiring assistance back to clinic.
• Liaises between technologists and ordering physicians for order clarification.
• Assists Radiologic Technologist with cleaning and disinfecting the x-ray room between patients and setup for next patient.
• Cross-trains to cover Radiology Front Desk during lunches/breaks.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and Radiology Technologists.
• Escorts physicians to CT suite for X-Ray procedures as needed.
