Job Overview

As a Cook/Kitchen Staff, you will be prepping meals by weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients. You will cook meals, check ingredients for freshness and arrange and garnish the meals. You will oversee ensuring the kitchen and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.

To be successful in this job you will need thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.

Hours: This job requires you to work during the evening, weekends and occasionally on holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.
• Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers, mixers, grinders and food processors.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of hot and cold food preparation techniques.
• Adhere to all accepted sanitation standards and health codes to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
• Wash dishes and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area.
• Utilise cut gloves when handling knives and other sharp utensils.
• Manage assigned tasks effectively and meet established time schedules.
• Maintain an immaculate kitchen environment through regular cleaning and adherence to hygiene protocols.
• Cross-departmental training may be required based on location and operational requirements.
• Fulfil any other duties as delegated or directed by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications: General Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of hire.
• Prior experience in food and beverage service and food preparation is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with both hot and cold food preparation.
• Sound working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
• If 18 years old or older: Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders and food processors.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining composure and efficiency.
• Must be willing to obtain R-Serving (for candidates 21+), Food Handler and/or Food Manager certifications in accordance with state, county and location-based requirements. Religious exemptions are available upon request with written documentation for liquor liability certification. All required certifications will be paid for by the company.
